 Child Welfare

Make sure you check out State Auditor Foley’s website for the latest on his audit of the Child Welfare division of DHHS.  Further proof that DHHS is not really about “helping people live better lives” and that state employees can do the job cheaper and better than private contractors.  Meetings are being held throughout the state by the Legislatures Health and Human Services Committee.  Check out their website at www.nebraskalegislature.gov

Access Nebraska

LR 209 introduced by Senator Danielle Nantkes creates an interim study to look at the effects of Access Nebraska on the clients we serve. After hearing NAPE members testify at a hearing the Unicameral decided they wanted to look further into Access Nebraska, they seem to have questions as to whether or not it provides adequate Access for all of our clients.
