State cuts: Lawmakers look at options – OWH article

Access Nebraska

LR 209 introduced by Senator Danielle Nantkes creates an interim study to look at the effects of Access Nebraska on the clients we serve. After hearing NAPE members testify at a hearing the Unicameral decided they wanted to look further into Access Nebraska, they seem to have questions as to whether or not it provides adequate Access for all of our clients. The Lincoln Journal Star on Sunday May 17th published “A Call to Action” on BSDC. It is a worthwhile article to read. The article traces the history of problems at BSDC and calls upon the Governor to finally take action and fix the problems at BSDC. It also highlights some of the work done by the Legislative Commission headed by Senator Steve Lathrop.
