NAPE/AFSCME Welcomes New Attorney

NAPE/AFSCME is proud to welcome Ariana Lopez as a new attorney to our staff. Ari joins us after the retirement of Dalton Tietjen who served as NAPE counsel for thirty-seven years.

Originally from Lakewood, California, Ari is a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law. As a law student at Nebraska Law, Ari clerked at the Los Angeles Public Defender’s Office and the Lancaster County Public Defender’s Office. Similarly, while in law school, Ari obtained a concentration in criminal litigation and became a certified mediator in the State of Nebraska. Before law school, Ari obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from William Penn University and her associates degree from Orange Coast College.

Outside of work, Ari likes to travel and spend time with her family. She loves to travel to national parks. Her favorite national park, so far, is Yosemite. Additionally, Ari tries to visit her family in California as much as possible – her niece and nephews are her pride and joy.

Coming from a union family, Ari understands the importance of unions. She is passionate about helping the “underdog,” and believes everyone should have access to legal representation. Ari looks forward to representing our members and advocating for their rights within the workforce.
