Over 1,100 State Employees Became NAPE/AFSCME Members in Past Year

NAPE/AFSCME membership has grown at a rapid pace over the course of the past twelve months during our “Grow Stronger Together for a Better Contract” campaign, and our union membership is at its highest level in over 20 years. More than 1,100 state employees became new NAPE/AFSCME members during the campaign, and we’re not stopping there! We’re committed to continuing our record growth during contract negotiations this fall.

Throughout the remainder of  2022, NAPE/AFSCME member leaders and stewards will continue to have conversations with potential union members about the importance of strength in numbers so that we have power at the bargaining table. A union is a group of workers that promotes and protects the welfare and rights of its members primarily through contract negotiations. We are only as strong as our membership, and that’s why we must continue to grow and why we need you!

From September 12-16, our volunteer member leaders will be conducting an intensive week of worksite visits, phone calls, and visits with potential union members about the importance of becoming an active union member. If you are not yet a NAPE/AFSCME member, we hope you will join us today and add your voice and stand with us as we continue to grow for power at the bargaining table this fall!
