The NAPE Biennial Delegate Assembly will take place in Lincoln August 15-17, 2025. The Delegate Assembly is the highest decision making body of our union. Union members elect 40 delegates to join the 25 members of the Board of Directors who are automatic delegates to shape the future of our union.
Delegates are responsible for adopting amendments to our bylaws, strategic plan, and legislative platform. Delegates are also responsible for setting dues rates, adopting resolutions and position statements, and they are responsible for electing the five officers of the union.
The 2025 Delegate Assembly will take place in Lincoln August 16 & 17, 2025, with a welcome reception on the evening of August 15. Delegates traveling more than 60 miles will be provided with a hotel room and reimbursed mileage for their trip to Lincoln.
Members may nominate themselves or another eligible member by clicking here. Members can also make nominations by returning the paper nomination form that was sent by mail to 1230 O Street, Suite 120, Lincoln, NE 68508. Nominations must be received prior to 4:30pm central time on April 18, 2025.
Nominations will also be accepted verbally, in person, at a nominations meeting on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 5:30pm at NAPE/AFSCME Headquarters (1230 O Street, Lincoln, NE 68508). In order to run for office the member must meet the eligibility requirements for the position they are running for as well as have been an active member in good standing since April 21, 2024.
Ballots will be emailed to all members in good standing on April 21, 2025, and must be submitted no later than Noon on May 2, 2025. If the number of nominees is equal to or less than the number of positions available, those nominees will be declared elected. Members must be elected by a majority vote, and where no member receives a majority of votes, a runoff election will be conducted.
