NAPE/AFSCME Welcomes New Staff Member

NAPE/AFSCME is excited to welcome Kimberly Braaten to our staff. Kim is excited to serve our members as our Executive Assistant, providing administrative support to our Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Kim is a native of Savannah, Missouri and joins us with nearly eight years of experience in government. She credits this experience with teaching her that you always have to be willing to learn from those who think differently than you.

Kim’s grandfather was the first President of the National Farmers Organization, which has led to her passion for the labor movement and commitment to bridging divides. Service is meaningful to Kim and she is “most excited about meeting the members and becoming an asset to the team.”

Kim earned her B.A. in History from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, her Juris Master from Liberty University, and is currently pursuing a M.S. in Organizational Leadership at Creighton University.

In her free time, you will find Kim spending time with her adult sons Tyler and Andrew, at a Kansas City Chiefs game, fishing in Canada during the summers, or deep sea fishing in Texas and the Florida Keys during the winter.

Kim is excited to give a warm welcome to any members visiting NAPE/AFSCME headquarters and can’t wait to meet as many members as possible!
