I want to continue to see the growth of our Volunteer Member Organizer program and can’t wait to see us reach 4,000 members,” said Melissa.
Brandon Brown (Senior Agent, Revenue, Lincoln) was elected to his first full term as Vice President. Brandon previously was elected Sergeant-At-Arms and was appointed Vice President to fill a vacancy to complete the unexpired last term. In his role as Vice President, Brandon has provided consistent support and steady leadership to our union. “We have some tough challenges to face, and I know we’ll continue to make thoughtful decisions on our path forward,” Brandon said.
Ashlie Thompson (Developmental Disabilities Service Coordinator, DHHS, Lincoln) was re-elected to her second term as Secretary. Ashlie said, “I love our union, and it’s hard to believe all that we have accomplished over the past seven years. I remember getting involved for the first time to fix poor conditions at the Gold’s Building, and now I’m serving my second term on the Executive Committee. When we get involved, we win!”
Amy Peters (Scientist I, DHHS, Lincoln) was elected Treasurer and became the newest member of the Executive Committee. Amy ran for Treasurer to ensure our members’ resources are safeguarded and that business is conducted quickly and efficiently. “I’m dedicated to standing up for worker’s rights, and I’m thrilled to be serving on the Executive Committee,” said Amy.
Brandon Ziska (Security Officer II, Wayne State College) was elected to his first full term as Sergeant-at-Arms. Brandon was previously appointed Sergeant-At-Arms to fill the vacancy when Brandon Brown was appointed Vice President.
