Initially set for oral argument during the Nebraska Supreme Court’s September term, arguments in our remote work case have been moved by the court to its November 2025 term. We are now set on the court’s proposed call for hearings to be held November 4, 5, or 6.
The court’s November arguments will be heard at both the state capitol in Lincoln and at Conestoga High School in Murray. We expect to learn the exact date, time, and location of the oral argument at the end of September. While frustrating, it is not uncommon for the court to reschedule arguments. Criminal matters take precedent over civil matters pending before the court.
In addition to our case before the Nebraska Supreme Court, our union continues to challenge the dismissal of remote work grievances by the Nebraska State Personnel Board. We have appealed the Board’s decision and the case has been assigned to Judge Ryan Post in Lancaster County District Court.
We will provide an update regarding all of the litigation and the current state of remote work assignments at three September union meetings as follows:
Tuesday, September 9 – 5:30pm – Lincoln Firefighter’s Union Hall (241 Victory Lane)
Wednesday, September 17 – 7pm central – Virtual Meeting Online – Register Here
Thursday, September 18 – 6pm – Omaha Lansky’s Pizza (50th & L St)
A recording of the virtual meeting will be available on our member’s only archive page here.
