Nebraska Supreme Court Reschedules Remote Work Oral Argument to December 2-4

Initially set for oral argument during the Nebraska Supreme Court’s September term, arguments in our remote work case have been moved again by the court to its December 2025 term. We are now set on the court’s proposed call for hearings to be held December 2, 3, or 4.

The court’s December arguments will be heard at the state capitol in Lincoln.  We expect to learn the exact date, time, and location of the oral argument in mid-November. While frustrating, it is not uncommon for the court to reschedule arguments. Criminal matters take precedent over civil matters pending before the court.

In addition to our case before the Nebraska Supreme Court, our union continues to challenge the dismissal of remote work grievances by the Nebraska State Personnel Board. We have appealed the Board’s decision and the case has been assigned to Judge Ryan Post in Lancaster County District Court. We expect an argument in the District Court before the end of the year.

If you missed our update meeting regarding the cases and the current state of remote work at state agencies, a recording of the virtual meeting is available to union members by clicking here.
