AFL-CIO Delegate Nominations Due July 16

NAPE/AFSCME is affiliated with the Nebraska State AFL-CIO. The Nebraska AFL-CIO is a group of affiliated labor unions that represent the interests of working people at the state level. The AFL-CIO mobilizes members and community partners to advocate for social and economic justice and we strive daily to vanquish oppression and make our communities better for all people—regardless of race, color, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, or ethnic or national origin.

The Nebraska AFL-CIO constitutional convention takes place every other year. Affiliated unions send delegates to the convention based on the number of members in accordance with the AFL-CIO bylaws. NAPE is entitled to send seven delegates to this year’s convention.

The convention will take place in Kearney on September 24 & 25, 2021. NAPE will pay the costs for delegates to attend the convention. Members interested in serving as a delegate to the convention may nominate themselves or other members. All NAPE members in good standing are eligible to serve as a delegate.
Nominations may be submitted online by clicking here. Nominations are due no later than 4:30 pm on Friday, July 16. Nominations may also be submitted by mail by sending the member’s name to NAPE/AFSCME Local 61, 770 N. Cotner Blvd. Suite 403, Lincoln, NE 68505.
