Delegate Assembly Meets August 13-15

The NAPE Biennial Delegate Assembly will convene in Lincoln from August 13-15. Over sixty member delegates gather at the every-two-year convention to conduct the union’s most important business. The Delegate Assembly is the highest decision making body of the union. Delegates were elected by the NAPE membership earlier this year.

Delegates will consider suggested changes to the union’s bylaws, adopt of our legislative priorities, review the union’s strategic plan, review the annual auditors report, and elect the NAPE Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant-at-Arms for the 2021-2023 term.

In addition to conducting the union’s business, delegates will participate in training and other informational sessions to strengthen their leadership skills in the workplace. AFSCME Secretary-Treasurer Elissa McBride will attend the Delegate Assembly on Saturday, August 14 and will deliver the keynote address at 10am. All NAPE members are welcome to attend any part of the Delegate Assembly as an observer.

The Delegate Assembly will be in session on August 14 from 9am-5pm and August 15 from 9am-3pm. The Delegate Assembly will convene at the Courtyard Marriott Lincoln Haymarket (808 R Street).
