Negotiations Team Makes Slight Progress

Our bargaining team spent all day Friday, December 9 at the bargaining table as we continue the hard work of fighting for our best contract ever. Thanks to the action of NAPE/AFSCME union members, the State withdrew its proposal to freeze minimum salaries through June 30, 2025. While this is a good sign, we remain far apart on salary and benefits, and we have a great deal of work ahead in the coming weeks.

There is no doubt that the efforts of union members are paying off by putting pressure on the State to reach a deal. Wearing green, wearing stickers, talking to co-workers, and our first solidarity day at the Capitol have already produced results. The deadline to complete negotiations is less than three weeks away, and we need our union members to be more involved and engaged than ever before. The negotiations team will be back at the table on Friday, December 16.

If you are not yet a union member, please join us today to send a message to the State that you stand with your coworkers and will not accept anything but a fair contract. More than thirty new members joined in the last four days alone! Become a member and add your voice to our demand for better wages and working conditions.
