NAPE/AFSCME Adds 18 New Volunteer Member Organizers

In April, a group of NAPE/AFSCME members traveled to union headquarters in Lincoln to take a Volunteer Member Organizer (VMO) training class. These dedicated union members are now ready to join our other VMOs to help grow our union!

VMOs are a dedicated force of union members who are trained to inspire, lead, and encourage involvement in our union by signing up new members! A group of members were VMO trained in 2022 and helped lead our successful organizing blitz ahead of contract negotiations in the fall. Since our organizing blitz this fall, our union membership has grown another 20%.

We will be holding our first ever statewide organizing blitz this summer in mid-July. As we continue to grow towards our goal of having 3,000 NAPE/AFSCME members for the first time in our history, we need great VMOs! If you are interested in becoming a NAPE/AFSCME VMO, please let us know by e-mail at help@napeafscme.org
