NAPE Retirees Chapter Grows to Support Active & Retired Members

NAPE/AFSCME Retirees Chapter 161 has continued to grow, just as NAPE/AFSCME membership has continued to grow. When a NAPE/AFSCME member retires, they are encouraged to join our retirees chapter

The mission of NAPE/AFSCME Retirees Chapter 161 is to seek and advocate for the preservation and enhancement of Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security benefits, as well as any state level benefits which we worked hard to put in place; lend active support to NAPE/AFSCME Local 61 as it organizes and works on behalf of working public employees in Nebraska; acts to hold decision makers accountable, as they represent retirees in both state and national government; and promotes solidarity with the broader labor movement in communities throughout our State.

All retirees who were members of AFSCME, or who would have been eligible for membership in AFSCME in the State of Nebraska, or who were Nebraska state employees, and the spouses of such retired persons are eligible for membership in this Retiree Chapter. Membership dues in the retirees chapter are just $24 for the entire year. Members of Retirees Chapter 161 continue to have access to all AFSCME Advantage membership benefits. The retirees chapter meets bi-monthly in Lincoln, with a Zoom option for those residing outside of Lincoln.
