December 31 Contract Negotiations Deadline Approaches

Our State of Nebraska contract negotiations team has been hard at work at the bargaining table since mid-September to reach an agreement on a new labor contract that meets our members’ priorities. The December 31 deadline to complete negotiations is approaching fast, and it’s time for our members to get engaged. Members can watch an in depth update from the bargaining team on our progress through November on our website here.

Our team remains committed to ensuring wage increases outpace inflation and insurance increases, in addition to step increases for satisfactory performance and competitive starting salaries for each job classification.

Our negotiations team will be back at the bargaining table on December 4. We’ll host an in person meeting in Lincoln at 5:30pm at the Firefighter’s Union Hall (241 Victory Lane) and short virtual meetings on December 12 and 19 to update members on our progress. NAPE members can click here to register. Additional updates will be added, so be sure to check your email, our website, and Facebook for information.

There will be opportunities for members to take action and show public support for our negotiations team. Keep an eye out for calls to action! It’s more important than ever for members to show their support for our contract negotiations team and stay informed about our progress. We must keep growing for strength at the bargaining table, so talk to your non-member colleagues about the importance of joining our union!
