Union members at the State of Nebraska (code & non-code agencies) have ratified a new labor contract to run from July 1, 2025-June 30, 2027. Union members attended 47 ratification meetings around the state from January 13-23, 2025. The contract was ratified in each bargaining unit as follows:
Bargaining Unit A (Administrative Professional) – 92% in favor, 30% voter turnout
Bargaining Unit C (Social Services & Counseling) – 95% in favor, 23% voter turnout
Bargaining Unit E (Engineering, Science & Resources) – 98% in favor, 40% voter turnout
Bargaining Unit H (Health & Human Care Professional) – 98% in favor, 24% voter turnout
Bargaining Unit I (Health & Human Care Non-professional) – 86% in favor, 13% voter turnout
Bargaining Unit M (Maintenance, Trades & Technical) – 92% in favor, 33% voter turnout
Bargaining Unit S (Administrative Support) – 96% in favor, 28% voter turnout
Bargaining Unit X (Examining, Inspection & Licensing) – 83% in favor, 35% voter turnout

The new contract will be posted here when it has completed legal review and has been signed by NAPE/AFSCME and the Governor. The new contract will take effect on July 1, 2025 and highlights include:
- Salary increases over two years between 6.5%-19% based on job classification with a satisfactory annual performance evaluation
- Minimum contract wage of $15/hour
- Six weeks of paid maternity leave for FML eligible mothers
- Multilingual premium pay of $1.75/hour for designated positions
- Sick leave can be donated across agencies for catastrophic illness instead of just vacation leave within an agency
- E bargaining unit vacation and sick leave equal to other units
- Higher NDOT and State Patrol overnight/weekend shift differentials
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) premium pay for certain NDOT employees
- CDL trainer premium pay for NDOT
- Direct care shift differentials when working out of class
