Union member delegates to the NAPE/AFSCME biennial delegate assembly adopted a new strategic plan and new legislative priorities for the 2025-2027 biennium. The Strategic Planning Committee was led by Amy Peters (DHHS, Lincoln) and the Legislative Priorities were developed by the Government Affairs Committee chaired by Brandon Brown (Revenue, Lincoln).
Our new strategic plan, which can be viewed in its entirety here, has five areas of concentration:
- Build Worker Power
- Strong Contracts By and For Our Members
- Grow Member Leaders
- Communicating and Engaging With State Employees & Our Communities
- Legislative & Political Action
Our legislative priorities, which can be viewed in their entirety here, have four areas of concentration:
- Strengthen Union Rights & Collective Bargaining Laws
- Support Responsible State Budget & Tax Policies
- Enhance and Protect Worker’s Rights
- Push For Improved Workplace Safety
In order to implement our strategic plan and accomplish our legislative priorities, we need great union member leaders. If you’re looking to get more involved in your union, click here to sign up for an upcoming leadership training weekend.
