Our Omaha training weekend will be held at the Omaha Marriott (10220 Regency Circle) beginning on Friday, November 14 at 5pm and concluding on Saturday, November 15 at 4pm. This is a great opportunity for you to hone your leadership skills so that you can help us get organized and grow our union to have a stronger voice in the workplace.
Stewards are worksite leaders trained on our contract and the law to assist their fellow employees in the workplace. They are also workplace communicators who convey important information to their colleagues about our union, and they help grow our union by talking to their colleagues about the importance of union membership.
Any NAPE/AFSCME member is welcome to attend this training. Current stewards will refresh their skills and take advanced training, while first time attendees will take our initial steward training course. Meals will be provided during the training, and members traveling from outside Omaha will have a hotel room provided by NAPE/AFSCME.
