Over 40 NAPE/AFSCME members came together for our spring Leadership Training in Lincoln in April to sharpen their skills to better serve their fellow union members as leaders in their workplace. New stewards took a deep dive into our labor contract and learned more about their rights. Returning stewards practiced their skills to better represent, organize, and lead their colleagues.
Union stewards are member leaders who are trained on our contract and the law to assist fellow employees in the workplace. Stewards play a vital role in our union by communicating important information to other members about our union and helping to grow our union membership.
Our next Leadership Training will be in Omaha on June 13 & 14. This is a great opportunity to hone your leadership skills and help grow our union to have a stronger voice when we go to the bargaining table this fall. All NAPE/AFSCME members are welcome to attend this training.
Current stewards will refine their skills, while first time attendees will take our initial steward course. Meals will be provided during the training and members traveling from outside of Omaha will have a hotel room provided.
Spots fill up quickly, so register today! Click here to sign up and help grow and strengthen our union. Can’t make it? Join us for our next training in Scottsbluff on August 29 & 30.
