17th Biennial NAPE Bargaining Conference July 15-17

Every two years, union members elected by their peers as delegates meet in Lincoln to discuss, debate, and adopt our priorities for contract negotiations, as well as elect members to serve on our contract negotiations team. This year, delegates will meet in Lincoln July 15-17 to conduct this most important union business.

Over 600 state employees attended town hall meetings and worksite visits across Nebraska this spring to share their opinions on what is most important to be included in our next contract. It was no surprise that meaningful wage increases were the number one issue for our members. We will stand united to negotiate fair and meaningful wage increases for all state employees. If you are not a member, will you join us and stand with us to accomplish this goal?

In addition to salary increases, delegates will debate and discuss member submitted proposals regarding paid parental leave, sick leave payouts, state paid health insurance in retirement, early retirement incentives, bilingual premium pay, remote work assignments, hazard pay, premium pay when working short staffed, and much more.

If you were unable to attend a town hall meeting this spring, a recording of a virtual meeting showing the results of our contract negotiations survey is available on our website for members to view. In August, we will share with members the negotiations platforms at meetings across the state and online.
