NAPE/AFSCME Members Vote – Election Day is November 8

Union members across Nebraska understand the importance of voting on Election Day – November 8, 2022! Electing pro-worker candidates at all levels of government, especially in the Nebraska Legislature, is critical to protecting our rights to negotiate contracts collectively and have a voice on the job!

The NAPE/AFSCME Government Affairs Committee (GAC) is a bi-partisan group of union members who monitors pending legislation and political issues that are important to our members. The NAPE/AFSCME GAC invited all candidates for congress, governor, and legislature to interview with the committee to share their positions on issues that affect state employees.

After the interviews, the GAC made recommendations to the NAPE/AFSCME Board of Directors for our union to endorse certain candidates who the committee felt best supported issues that affect state employees on the job. See a list of NAPE/AFSCME Local 61’s endorsements here.

Be sure to cast your vote on November 8. It’s important this election season to be aware of which candidates are pro-union and pro-labor. Having legislative support behind NAPE/AFSCME Local 61 is incredibly valuable as we continue to work to negotiate our strongest contract ever.
