Our state colleges bargaining team has continued to make progress at the negotiation table on behalf of our support staff members at Chadron, Peru, and Wayne State Colleges.
At our most recent bargaining session, we made significant progress on our proposals to increase sick and vacation earnings, premium pay when working on holidays, and paid parental leave. We also further discussed our proposal to move support staff to a step pay system with annual increases instead of the “five year lane” system in the current contract.
Our next bargaining session scheduled for early December will focus on wages and step pay as we continue to make progress toward a tentative agreement. The deadline to complete negotiations is December 31. Once a tentative agreement is reached, union members on all three campuses will conduct a ratification vote to accept or reject the contract.
