The majority of employees at the DHHS Lexington Customer Service Center are proud NAPE/AFSCME union members, thanks in large part to the efforts of our stewards who have committed to growing membership for a stronger voice on the job.
NAPE/AFSCME steward Kylee Wengler, a Social Services Worker at the Lexington CSC, has been a union member for several years and takes pride in the fact that her colleagues understand the importance of having a voice in the workplace.
“It’s great to see the Lexington CSC surpassing majority union membership! We want a voice to protect our rights in the workplace, and being a member of our union gives us the chance to do so. I’m excited to see our union continue to grow, especially as we get ready for contract negotiations,” Kylee said.
Kylee and six of her Lexington colleagues have attended our NAPE/AFSCME Leadership Training weekends where they became union stewards by learning skills to enforce our contract, represent colleagues, and grow our union. It’s no accident that the Lexington CSC has more than majority membership.
As we approach the start of contract negotiations, now is the time to join your union and make your voice heard in the workplace. Will you stand with your colleagues and join your union today?
