Become a Union Steward in One Day Training – June 22

A training class for union members wishing to become new union stewards will be held in Lincoln on Saturday, June 22 from 9am-3pm. A union steward is a worksite leader who is trained on our contract and the law to help assist fellow employees in the workplace. Click here to register for the training.

Our union offers initial steward training throughout the year in various locations around the state. Steward training consists of two classes: a contract training class and a representation class. These can be completed in any order and each takes two hours to complete.

The training on June 22 is an opportunity for members to take both courses in one day and immediately become a certified union steward. NAPE/AFSCME will pay for a hotel room in Lincoln on the evening of Friday, June 21 for members traveling more than 60 miles to attend the training. Lunch will be provided on Saturday.

If you can’t make it to the June 22 training, we will offer additional training opportunities around the state at various times throughout the year. Click here to sign up for a future training date or to express interest in attending a training near you.
