Have you ever wondered how you can get a pay raise working in state government? Are you a long time union member looking for a refresher on the contract negotiations process? Be sure to attend a local union meeting this April to learn more!
State employees negotiate our union contracts each even numbered year under Nebraska state law. Contract negotiations begin on the second Wednesday of September and continue until the end of the year. Union members decide our contract negotiations priorities democratically, and we’re getting ready to begin that process this summer.
Union members will have the opportunity to have their voices heard at town hall meetings, a comprehensive negotiations survey, and a contract negotiations summit open to all union members. Before we begin that process, it’s important to learn about the negotiations process and the law.
All NAPE/AFSCME contract covered state employees are welcome to attend a meeting to learn more. Meetings will be held on:
Tuesday, April 7 – Fremont – Gambino’s Pizza East – 6:30pm
Tuesday, April 14 – Lincoln – Firefighter’s Union Hall – 5:30pm
