Make Your Voice Heard, Attend a Contract Negotiations Town Hall Meeting

NAPE/AFSCME union members will begin contract negotiations for our 2027-2029 labor contracts in September. Our union members determine our negotiations priorities democratically. We will begin our negotiations preparations by holding town hall meetings around the state and virtually throughout May and June.

Our town hall meetings are the first chance for union members to voice and discuss their negotiations priorities with fellow members. Attend any meeting that is convenient for you, and share what matters most to you to be included in our next labor contracts. Town hall meetings will be held as follows:

Tuesday, May 19 – Wayne State College – 1:30pm (Conn Library 016)

Once our town hall meetings conclude in June, members will receive a comprehensive survey via email to voice specific priorities and to prioritize ideas shared at the town hall meetings.

The final step in our preparations will be our NAPE/AFSCME Contract Negotiations Summit, which will be held in Lincoln from July 31-August 2. The Contract Negotiations Summit is open to all NAPE/AFSCME members to attend. Attendees will finalize our negotiations proposals and our Board of Directors will appoint members to our negotiations teams. More Summit information will be shared in the coming weeks with union members.

We will submit our negotiations proposals to the State of Nebraska, Department of Education, and Nebraska State College System on September 1. Negotiations begin on September 9 in accordance with state law.
