NAPE/AFSCME Local 61 will host our 26th Biennial Delegate Assembly and Convention in Lincoln from August 25-27, 2023. Sixty-five union member delegates elected by their peers will meet at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel to conduct important union business.
Over the course of the weekend, delegates will discuss, debate, and adopt our strategic plan, legislative platform, and resolutions. Delegates will also consider amendments to our union’s constitutional bylaws and set the dues rate for the next two years. They will also elect a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant-At-Arms to serve for the next two-year term. That group, along with Executive Director Justin Hubly, make up our union’s Executive Committee.
Additionally, delegates have the opportunity to hear from keynote speakers including AFSCME Secretary-Treasurer Elissa McBride, state Senators, and other elected officials. Delegate Assembly sessions are open to all union members to observe at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel (333 S. 13th St, Lincoln).
