It’s important that NAPE/AFSCME union members know their rights on the job. In this month’s edition of The Rep’s Corner, members can watch a short video to learn more about what to do if they face a potential disciplinary action at work.
Article 10.6 of our labor contract guarantees that, upon request, an employee is entitled to union representation at investigatory meetings that have the potential to lead to discipline and pre-disciplinary meetings.
It’s important to note that the employee is responsible for invoking these rights by asking their employer ahead of time whether the meeting could lead to disciplinary action and, if so, requesting that a union representative be present.
