The Nebraska State AFL-CIO Constitutional Convention takes place every other year. Affiliated unions, including NAPE/AFSCME, send delegates to the convention based on the number of members in accordance with the Nebraska State AFL-CIO bylaws. The NAPE/AFSCME Board of Directors set a nomination and elections procedure in accordance with our bylaws.
Nominations will be accepted through Noon central time on Friday, July 21. Nominations must be submitted online by clicking here. For members without the ability to submit nominations online, nominations may be submitted by calling 402-486-3911. Voting will take place electronically between July 24-August 4. If the number of members nominated is equal to or less than the number of available seats, those members will be declared elected.
The Nebraska State AFL-CIO Constitutional Convention will take place in Kearney on September 22 & 23, 2023. NAPE/AFSCME will pay the costs for delegates to attend the convention including hotel, meals, and mileage in accordance with our membership travel policy.
